One map
Every vehicle on the account on a single live map, on the web platform and in the mobile app.
One login, one bill, every vehicle on the same map. R50 per device per month with no account fee, no user fee, and no limit on how many vehicles you add.
One account, yes. One subscription, no — and the distinction is worth being straight about. Each tracker carries its own subscription, which with The Tracking Co is R50 per device per month. Two vehicles is R100 a month. What the single account gives you is one login showing both vehicles on the same map, one bill, and no separate account or user charge on top.
The Tracking Co is a Cape Town-based GPS vehicle tracking company, tracking since 2016. There is no vehicle minimum and no vehicle ceiling: the price per device is the same whether the account holds two vehicles or two hundred, and because there is no contract, vehicles can be added or removed whenever the business changes.
Every vehicle on the account on a single live map, on the web platform and in the mobile app.
Charged per device on the account. Add a vehicle, add R50. Take one off, take R50 off. No penalty either way.
A plug-in OBD Mini, hardwired 4G900L units and a rugged FMC880 all report to the same account at the same price.
Sub-accounts let each person see only the vehicles you assign them. Included in the standard subscription.
Ask The Tracking Co to enable an admin account on your profile. That is a one-time step and the only part that needs us. From there you create as many sub-accounts as you want and decide, per account, which vehicles it can see and whether it can change anything or only look.
It is what makes a shared account workable in practice. A plumbing company running five vehicles set it up so each admin staff member sees only the teams they coordinate — the person handling the northern suburbs is not scrolling past vehicles that are not theirs, and nobody is editing a geofence that belongs to someone else's job.
The Tracking Co enables the admin account. After that you create sub-accounts yourself, with no request and no wait.
Assign exactly which vehicles each sub-account sees. Head office keeps the full view.
Set whether a person can change alerts and geofences, or only view. View-only is the usual setting for drivers.
R50 per vehicle per month, multiplied by however many vehicles are on the account. There is no volume tier to reach and no account charge sitting on top of it.
Subscriptions only — hardware is a separate once-off purchase you own, from R769 for the 4G900L. Payment plans are available on bulk hardware orders. Full pricing →
The same full platform, on every vehicle, at every account size. Nothing is reserved for larger fleets.
Managing the whole thing yourself is the norm — see self-monitored tracking, or GPS fleet tracking for larger operations.
You can track both from one account, but each tracker carries its own subscription. With The Tracking Co that is R50 per device per month, so two vehicles is R100 a month in total. There is no account fee, no user fee, and no minimum number of vehicles. What one account gives you is a single login that shows every vehicle on one map, with one bill covering the lot.
No. The Tracking Co places no cap on the number of vehicles on an account, and the price per device does not change with fleet size — it is R50 per vehicle per month whether you run two or two hundred. Annual billing brings that to R540 per vehicle per year. Larger fleets can also arrange payment plans on bulk hardware; ask when you request a quote.
Ask The Tracking Co to enable an admin account on your profile. Once that is in place you create as many sub-accounts as you need and control exactly which vehicles each one sees, and whether that person can make changes or only view. A supervisor running four vans sees those four vans and nothing else, while head office keeps the full picture. Sub-accounts are included at no extra cost.
Yes. Permissions are set per sub-account, so an account can be limited to viewing without the ability to edit geofences, alerts, or vehicle settings. That is the usual setup for drivers and for staff who need to answer a customer question but should not be changing the configuration. The Tracking Co enables the admin account first; after that you create and permission the sub-accounts yourself.
No. One account can hold a mix of devices — a plug-in OBD Mini on a car used for logbook purposes, hardwired 4G900L units on the working vehicles, an FMC920 where advanced alerts are wanted, and a rugged FMC880 on farm or plant equipment. They all report to the same platform and the same map. The subscription is R50 per device per month regardless of which unit it is.
Yes. Vehicles on one The Tracking Co account are billed together rather than as separate accounts, and the subscription is charged per device on it. Adding a vehicle adds R50 a month; removing one takes R50 off. Because there is no contract, vehicles can come off the account at any time with no penalty or early termination fee, and the hardware stays yours.
Yes, at any time. Fit a tracker to the new vehicle, send The Tracking Co the vehicle details, and it appears on the same account alongside the others. Fleets that keep a spare unit or two on hand can have a new vehicle reporting shortly after it joins, without waiting on anyone else to schedule it. Nothing about the existing vehicles changes.
Yes. Every vehicle on the account appears on a single live map on the web platform and in the mobile app, and trip history and reports can be pulled per vehicle or across the account. Scheduled reports can also be set up to arrive automatically, covering distance travelled, stops made, and a full travel sheet for each vehicle.
Hardware from R499. Subscriptions from R50 a month. No contracts, no setup fee, no surprise upgrades.
